Payment systems transform very quickly, transfers become cheaper and faster. The world is going online. Electronic money, cryptocurrency, mobile wallets are appearing. E-commerce is growing, new players are offering alternative payment tools. Blockchain also promises to revolutionize many of the above areas. Of course, against the background of all these processes, the increased interest is not surprising both from business and society, and from the state to new trends. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of conferences and forums. So, it allows to discuss the prospects and threats, the consequences and trends of development of payment systems, transfers and alternative payments in the era of super speeds.
It is worth noting the upcoming Web Summit 2019, which will be held from November 4 to 11 in Lisbon. So, this is the largest technology event in the world. During the week the summit will be attended by over 70,000 people, including leaders and founders of start-ups and technology companies, politicians, heads of state, media personalities, influential investors, and many others.
The event, connecting representatives of the technological community for communication and integration with other industries, will traditionally be held in a format bringing together more than a dozen different conferences, 170 Summit participating countries, 1,200 speakers and 2,600 journalists. The whole program, one way or another, is aimed at finding an answer to the question about the further development of technologies, their application in society, industry, politics, management and other areas. At the moment, there is no exact timetable and all the issues that will be raised at the summit, but we can say with confidence that the declared directions cannot but concern the issue of interest to us.
Among the announced speakers, you can find the first persons of well-known technology corporations, such as Microsoft and Activision Blizzard Esports, leaders of major global brands: Carlsberg, IKEA, P&G, H&M; Internet companies Tinder, PayPall, Canva and many others. In addition, Web Summit is the world’s largest gathering of international journalists from around the world. Among them are Bloomberg, Financial Times, Forbes, CNN, CNBC, and the Wall Street Journal.
